What a fun week, a ton of skiing on our home turf. The weekend was super fun too, check out our twitter link to see the way the girls optimize their training :-).
As mentioned this week I will be in Canmore where I will be supporting the team at a few races.
There will be no Toronto training or mid-week sessions this week. But Saturday will have an incredible fill in coach Erin Tribe. She is an amazing person and has Hardwood in her blood
Barrie Training
Saturday - Hardwood 9am-12 pm - Intensity - Dress for anything, please bring running shoes and ski poles, Erin will be doing an intensity and some other fun training with you.
Upper body Strength - Same as last week keep going with this so you are good and strong
The idea of the upper body strengthening is to make all exercises as specific as possible to skiing, so if you have access to a roller board or elastics then it would be good to build that into the program.
2 or 3 sets
Incline pull-ups - 10 explosive
Pushups - 15 fast
Plank on hands 60 sec
side plank 30 sec per side
dive push-ups - 10 slow
Tricep push-ups - 10 fast
One leg squat - 15 per side
Training Program
The training program is the same as last week, this is the time of year where we have to stay fit. If you need to move a workout that is cool but the more you can do now, the easier the racing will be in January.
